The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a rigorous, worldwide academic program based on an internationally recognized curriculum. IB students complete Alberta Education prescribed curriculum as well as additional curriculum outlined by the international IB organization.
The IB Diploma Programme is offered in Grades 11 and 12 and is designed to fulfill admission requirements of major universities around the world. Students may pursue a full diploma program, which incorporates all academic disciplines along with an opportunity to develop research and study skills, or subject-specific certificates, which provide targeted enrichment and allow students to challenge themselves in chosen academic areas.
Focused on providing a broad, liberal arts program base, the IB program is globally recognized as excellent preparation for university studies. The IB program is ideally suited for students who wish to engage in studies beyond the mandated Alberta Education Program of Studies.
