  • The designated schools for Sherwood are Mother Mary Greene (K-6) and St. Jean Brebeuf (7-9).
  • Students who are eligible to attend the new school based upon the boundary decision and who are currently registered at and/or attending the designated Catholic school for their community are automatically registered for the new school.
  • Catholic parents of students who are eligible to attend the new school based upon the boundary decision and who are not currently registered at and/or attending the designated Catholic school for their community are invited to contact Mother Mary Greene or St. Jean Brebeuf for more information.

Principal appointed to Sherwood School
Based upon the feedback received at the September 19 public consultation meeting and the School Administration Qualities, Attributes and Characteristics that was generated as a result of input at this meeting, the district has appointed a principal to the new Catholic high school under construction in Sherwood. On January 17, 2018, the Board of Trustees approved the name for the school: Blessed Marie-Rose. This name was the most popular in both school and parish surveys. Blessed Marie-Rose was recommended by the naming committee comprised of school council representatives, Father Avi Colaco from Ascension Catholic Parish, Trustee Myra D’Souza and district personnel.

Boundary articulation
On September 19, 2017, the district hosted a Boundary Articulation Meeting at Mother Mary Greene School, for the purpose of presenting a proposal with respect to boundaries for the new Catholic school under construction in Sherwood. Based on input and feedback from that meeting, the district scheduled a second meeting on Thursday, November 23, from 7-8:30 p.m., at Mother Mary Greene School (115 Edenwold Drive NW). The purpose of this meeting was to present additional data that was not presented on September 19, present alternatives to the original proposal, and to seek input and feedback from the community with respect to the alternatives. Final decision letter

The Calgary Catholic School District consults with Catholic parents in new school communities to consider and articulate the boundaries for the new school. The district will host a Help Plan Our Future session on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 7 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mother Mary Greene School (115 Edenwold Drive NW). The purpose of this meeting is to present the district’s proposal with respect to the boundary for Sherwood school and seek input and feedback from the community with respect to the proposal. In addition, parents will have an opportunity to provide input into the qualities, attributes and characteristics the community would like to see in their new Sherwood school administration.
