Help plan the future of our district!

Over the past three years, trustees and district administration have been involved in numerous conversations with school communities regarding program and student accommodation planning. These have included discussions around operationally small schools, programs of choice, re-imagining of French Immersion, boundaries, etc. These conversations will continue this fall with a goal of implementing some changes around programming and student accommodations in September of 2012 with continued implementation in the following two years.

We invite and encourage your participation in these meetings, please click on the following link for more information.  http://www.cssd.ab.ca/default.asp?V_ITEM_ID=1163  Please be advised that Ascension of Our Lord is in the NW quadrant.

Kindergarten Registration 2012-2013

Kindergarten registration for the 2012/2013 school year has already begun. Please contact the school office between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on school days (500 2075).

Ascension of Our Lord has a “first come first served” policy when deciding whether a child is placed in a morning or afternoon class. If morning or afternoon is an important consideration for you please indicate your preference when you register. Please be advised that as the registration process proceeds room will become limited in either the morning or afternoon, therefore, you may not get your preference. We presently have two morning classes and one afternoon class.

Registration is ongoing throughout the school year. A child who turns four years old on or before March 1 is eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall of that same calendar year. This means to register for kindergarten in September 2013, a child must turn four years old on or before March 1, 2013. The child’s birth certificate should be presented at the time of registration. Catholics and non-Catholics are encouraged to inquire.

Bell Schedule Change for 2011-2012

 Dear Parents

We would like to inform you of an important change to our current bell times, which will duly affect our Elementary morning recess and our lunch hour. Please note that the reverse lunch will still be in effect.

Due to the removal of our Junior High end of day TA period, and hence increasing our Junior High periods from 47 minutes to 48 minutes, we have had to make some necessary changes to our bell schedule during the day to accommodate this.

PLEASE NOTE: Elementary recess will now be from 10:24 am – 10:39 am.

Lunch will now be from 12:07 pm – 12:49 pm. The lunch bell is 4 minutes later than before.

Our start time will remain the same at 9:00 am and our dismissal time will remain at 3:20 pm.

If you have any concerns or questions, please call Mrs. Devetten at 403 500 2075

Thank you for your understanding and support.
