lease do not forget to hand all your textbooks into Textbook Rental the day of your exam.  Any textbook you are finished with must be returned now.   The absolutely final date to return your textbooks to avoid being charged the replacement cost is Friday, June 25.

06.29.2010Locker Cleanout
T
he last day of exams is Friday, June 25. All students should have returned their textbooks and cleaned out their locker by the end of the day on Friday, June 25. Returning students should take their locks and record the combination for next year.   All remaining locks will be removed and lockers cleaned out by the caretaking staff on Monday, June 28. The remaining contents will be donated to charity.

Start Up Information
2010-2011

  • To view the 2010-2011 calendar from our Bishop O’Byrne website, visit Parents >> Calendar.  This will provide you with the dates of all major holidays, reporting periods and events for the entire school year.
  • The student bell schedule can be found at the following link:  
  • Packages will be sent out to all students mid August.  The letters will provide students and parents with the students’ timetable for both semesters and the details of the pre-registration dates, first days of school, etc.
  • The office will re-open on Thursday, August 12, 2010. 
  • Student pre-registration dates are August 24, 25 and 27th.  The morning of Tuesday, August 24th is reserved for grade 12 students; the afternoon of August 24th is for grade 11 students; Wednesday, August 25 is reserved for grade 10 students (all day); and Friday, August 27th (9:00 am – noon) is open to all students who were not able to attend on Tuesday or Wednesday. 

Please use these dates to:

  • Take Visible ID pictures.
  • Buy bus passes for September ($39.50).
  • submit requests for timetable changes.
  • Pay General Fees ($45.00) and Textbook Rental Fees ($120.00)
  • The first day of school is Thursday, September 2, 2010.  It is a half day of school for students.  Grade 10 students will begin at 9:30 a.m. and be dismissed at 11:00 a.m.  They will be treated to a free “Welcome Back B.B.Q. Lunch” from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Grade 11 & 12 students are encouraged to join us for the B.B.Q. from noon to 1:00 p.m.

Grade 11 & 12 students will meet with their Teacher Advisors from 1:00 pm to 2:00 p.m.

  • The first full day of school is Friday September 3, 2010.  Students should plan to be at school by 8:45 a.m. to go to their lockers, get their materials, etc.  Please remember that ALL of our Fridays are shorter than the rest of the week with a 2:05 dismissal.
  • Monday, September 6, 2010 is the Labour Day holiday.
  • Regular classes resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.
