St. Basil

Kindergarten - Grade 9
Regular Programming

The school's motto is: Where: "Students Believe And Succeed In Learning."

St. Basil serves Catholic elementary/junior high students from the Tuscany community.

Registration
Registration at St. Basil Elementary/Junior High has been capped since March 31, 2009. The school is at capacity and after a lengthy public participation process with the community; a decision was made regarding the future accommodation and registration of students as follows:

  • All students currently enrolled at St. Basil School who continue to reside in the community of Tuscany can remain at St. Basil for the duration of their Kindergarten to Grade 9 schooling.
  • New Kindergarten admissions will be accepted based on the following priorities:
      - Priority 1: Siblings of current enrolled students
      - Priority 2: Those living within the 1.2 km elementary walk limit. Priority 2 students will be considered for enrollment by order of their registration until classroom capacity has been reached.
      - Students who are unable to attend St. Basil, due to space constraints, or who choose not to attend, will be bussed to Monsignor Doyle School for Kindergarten to Grade 6 and directed to Our Lady of the Assumption School for Junior High School (Grades 7 – 9).  Monsignor Doyle Elementary School is located in the neighbouring community of Scenic Acres at 8887 Scurfield Drive NW. Our Lady of the Assumption is located at 7311 – 34th Avenue NW.
  • New Grade 1 - 9 students within the 1.2 km walk limit of St. Basil may be enrolled into St. Basil where resources and facility space allow. Otherwise, new students will be directed to attend Monsignor Doyle School for Grades 1 - 6 and Our Lady of the Assumption for Grades 7 - 9.
  • Parents may choose to enroll their children in Our Lady of the Assumption School beginning in Kindergarten and will be able to remain at the school until Grade 9.  Transportation options are being reviewed and are contingent on enrolment numbers from the Tuscany community.
  • If you have any questions about the 1.2 km walk limit or wish to confirm the location of your home in terms of the 1.2 walk limit, please call our Transportation Department at (403) 500- 2458.
