Calgary Catholic School District offers the Science & Technology program at three junior high schools. Each school features a curricular program for junior high students with a keen interest in learning through the “lens” of science and technology. The mandated Alberta Programs of Studies for all subject areas continues to be the foundation of the instructional program at each of the schools. At the same time, an enhanced profile for science and technology learning, within all subject areas, is the hallmark of the learning environment.
The current Alberta Programs of Studies in all subject areas provides many links to science and technology. School staff ensure the integrity and mandates of all programs of studies are maintained while simultaneously achieving a consistent science and technology focus.
The Calgary Catholic School District is unique among similar public schools offering a science and technology focus in that it is possible to create direct links to our shared Catholic faith with a focus on supporting students to understand that science and faith are complementary.
