On March 7, 2013, the Grade 6 class at Holy Name School presented Ace Ventura Pet Detective in a dinner theatre to the families, staff, students of the school as well as over 300 visiting students from St. Matthew School.
The Grade 6 class had being waiting since Grade 2 for this "encore performance" under the direction of school principal Mme. Suzanne Kitt who directed the play previously in 2008.
The evening was amazing! The gym was set up by school staff, parent volunteers and students. The children had been rehearsing for a few months. The costumes were great and the students had a lot of fun acting out their parts.
The play also involved some audience participation as people were encouraged to dance around the gym to "Dancing Queen" as the children led the way.
There was food prepared by Roma Catering that everyone enjoyed. The Grade 6 students asked all those who attended, to bring some non-perishable food for donation to St. Vincent de Paul. This was their 'Lenten Project'. As a result, they were able to donate several bags of food to the St. Vincent de Paul society.
All in all, the experience for the grade six class and parents was unforgettable!
