Instructional Media Centre (IMC)

Welcome to the Instructional Media Centre (IMC). IMC proudly offers instructional resources to support teaching and learning in our district. The IMC collection contains over 71,000 print, non-print and new media resources.

The 71,000 Item IMC collection contains:
• Art - teaching methods, prints, crafts and reproduction kits
• Cross-curriculum teaching materials
• Drama - plays for elementary through senior high, puppetry, mime
• ESL materials
• Fiction titles - elementary and young adult
• Folk and fairly tales
• French, Spanish, Italian, and German language materials
• Kits, models, puppets and realia
• Music scores - band, choirs, operettas and hand bells
• Playaways – audiobooks in standalone MP3 devices
• Professional materials in most subject areas including AISI and Learning Organization materials
• Physical Education materials and equipment
• Religious Education materials covering liturgies, the sacraments, prayers and religion curriculum materials
• Assistive Technology materials (on loan only through the direction of the Assistive Technology Team)
• Videos – DVD’s, streaming videos. All videos have the required public performance rights in place for classroom use. Please see Links below.

  • Videos in the Classroom - Guidelines for the use of videos in a public performance setting such as a classroom.
  • Online Reference Centre - The Learn Alberta Online Reference Centre may be accessed from our staff intranet site as well as from the District's external website. When accessing the site from a District computer, the user ID and password will be automatically entered for you. To access the site from an outside computer, you must enter the following: (User ID: LA05    Password: 3403)
  • COAC – Here you will find the newest educational streaming videos approved by Alberta educators. District personnel will be required to create a free login to access the videos.
  • LearnAlberta – LearnAlberta, itself, has almost 4000 video clips to enhance your program of studies. This site is searchable by curriculum outcomes.
