Father Lacombe graduate chosen as a winner of 2012 Canadian Living Me to We Awards

Jun. 28, 2012

Simon Atem, a graduate from Father Lacombe High School, was chosen as the recipient of the 2012 Canadian Living Me to We Award in the Community Category.

The Canadian Living Me to We Awards are divided into six categories, ensuring that Canadians from all walks of life are eligible.

Winners receive a $5,000 donation towards the charity of their choice courtesy of Canadian Living magazine, National Bank, Investors Group and Air Canada. Winners will also be featured in Canadian Living magazine and will attend We Day 2012!

Those nominated for these awards are everyday Canadians dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others and to thinking "we" before "me." Finalists are chosen and voted for online and winners are selected based on the numbers of votes received.

Simon's inspiring story will be featured in the September issue of Canadian Living Magazine, and he will be brought to Toronto for We Day! The $5000 prize he is receiving will be put back towards the school in his home country of Sudan that he helped build.

Congratulations, Simon!
