The Calgary Catholic School District’s Stampede spirit was alive and kicking during the Calgary Stampede Centennial Parade on Friday, July 6, 2012.
The parade, a time-honoured event, is the official kick off to the 10-day outdoor festival and draws an audience of about 400,000 in downtown Calgary. This year's parade was even more special as it was the kick off to the 100th anniversary celebration of the Calgary Stampede.
Participating in the parade gives our district the opportunity to celebrate our rich local history while promoting the district to thousands of people in a low cost, fiscally responsible way.
This year, Calgary Catholic was represented three times in the parade:
The Board of Trustees has entered in the parade as participants for past three years, the first time being for the district’s 125th anniversary. This year’s parade featured 110 entries.
