St. Philip School student chosen as winner of Ward 14 Wordsmith Award

City of Calgary Alderman Peter Demong, who represents Ward 14, challenged Grade 6 students in his ward to write an essay answering the question“Why should I care about Municipal Government?”

Katherine Wolfe of St. Philip School was the skilled writer chosen as winner of the 2013 Ward 14 Wordsmith Award. As the winner, Katherine's entire Grade 6 class will receive complimentary passes to the Calgary Zoo.

The prize also consists of a trip to City Hall for her entire class where her essay will be read in front of Council and the class will be introduced on television.

Following the Council introduction, the class will receive a tour of City Hall.
