Calgary Catholic schools provide assistance to students who have a first language other than English. This helps students in kindergarten to Grade 12 acquire sufficient fluency in English so they can integrate as quickly as possible into the regular classroom.

Reception Centre
ELL students in kindergarten to Grade 12 who are new to Canada should register at the District Reception Centre, located at St. Angela School, 231 - 6th Street NE. Students whose first language is not English can expect to complete an English language proficiency assessment.

The new student(s) and a legal guardian must attend the intake appointment. The following documents should be brought to the District Reception Centre on the day of the appointment:
We request that one parent/guardian provide his/her baptismal certificate, the child's baptismal certificate or other approved documentation to support sacramental preparation.
