Student Health Partnership

The Calgary Catholic School District is a partner in the Calgary Rocky View Student Health Partnership (SHP). The goal of the partnership is to enhance access to a range of coordinated, school-based services intended to support children and youth to be successful at learning. The Ministries of Health and Wellness, Children’s Services, and Education support SHP services within each region through the Student Health Initiative.

What supports are available?
Within the Calgary Catholic School District, the Student Health Partnership services include rehabilitation services – speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and physical therapy, and emotional-behavioral supports – family-school liaison and mental health services.

How are services accessed?
The District’s Instructional Services department has integrated SHP services into the existing structures already provided for meeting the health-related learning needs of students with special education needs.

A student's school is the gateway to all services and the first step in the process. The school, through a referral process and sometimes working with District and SHP personnel, will determine a student's needs and eligibility for these supports.

For specific inquiries, please contact the school. For general inquiries, please contact Larry Tomiyama, District Supervisor at (403) 500-2481.
