St. Joan of Arc opened January 7, 2008 in the community of Springside.

Registration
Registration at St. Joan of Arc Elementary/Junior High  is currently capped. The school's population growth since it opened has been greater than expected and the school is almost at full capacity.

The school is currently facing many challenges in regards to accommodating all students in the St. Joan of Arc area and in the future, it will not be able to sustain the entire student population of this area.  

As a result, after a lengthy public participation process with the community, a decision has been made regarding the future accommodation and registration of students.

- All existing students will remain at the school
- New Kindergarten admissions will be accepted based on the following order of priorities:

• Priority 1: Siblings of current students
• Priority 2: Those living within the 1.2 km elementary walk limit
• Priority 3: Those living within West Springs

- New Grades 1 to 9 students within the 1.2 km walk limit may be admitted into St. Joan of Arc where resources and facility space allows. 

Otherwise, new elementary students will attend John W. Costello and new junior high students will attend either St. Michael or St. Gregory.
