New School Hours: 8:40am – 3:00pm. The first bell rings at 8:40 am. Please ensure your child is on time and that someone is here to pick them up right at 3:00pm also. Students will lose recess privileges for their 3rd late arrival, so parents please get them started off on the right foot!
WELCOME TO ESCUELA JOHN PAUL II SCHOOL, an English Program and International Spanish Academy.
Escuela John Paul II Roman Catholic School takes pride in offering a quality English Education program to students and families in Castleridge and parts of Martindale. We are equally proud to host an International Spanish Academic program. We serve families in the NE and parts of SE Calgary who have chosen to access bilingual Spanish/English education.
The duo track program at Escuela John Paul II aspires to provide a quality program for all who attend, regardless of track selected. Here, we strive to provide our students and their families a quality academic and blended cultural experience.
It is our mandate to provide the best possible instructional program, to prepare students to the best of their ability, and to foster a desire in them to be life-long learners. Part of this preparation includes assisting students to become responsible citizens by teaching values based on sound Catholic education. As a team (home-school-church), we believe each child will gain a sense of self-worth and responsibility. As a school community we focus on respect. Key aspects include a valuing of respect for self, respect for others, respect for our environment, and respect for learning.

John Paul II School is a part of a Catholic Community of Caring. In an atmosphere of mutual respect, we recognize each individual. The adults within our community encourage and inspire one another to work together in educating the whole child in a safe, nurturing environment. Pursuing excellence in education, we strive to develop the future potential of life-long learners and responsible citizens.
SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
The Patron of John Paul II School is His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, whom we strive to work within the context of his actions.
His Holiness prayed “that through prayer, study, and discipline the young people of Escuela John Paul II School will learn to live according to God’s word and contribute to the building of a world based on justice, love and truth.” (June 25, 1984)
