Gr. 9 Farewell

On Thursday, June 20, the Grade 9 students will be celebrating with a Farewell Mass at St. Pius  Church (2424—24th Ave. N.W.) from 1:30-3:00 pm.  Parents and family are cordially invited to attend this celebration.

The Grade 9 class will be writing their FLA Part B Exam on the morning of June 20 at 9:15 a.m.  Following their exam, they will eat their lunches, receive their gowns, change (Because students will be wearing school gowns, dress for the occasion is strongly suggested as “Sunday” attire.  Formal evening wear is discouraged.), have pictures taken and will then board a bus to St. Pius Church.

Our celebration should conclude at approximately 3:00 p.m.  Transportation back to the school will not be provided.

School Satisfaction Survey

Have your say about the quality of education your child is receiving at their school!  To ensure our education system focuses on key improvements and the educational needs of students, Alberta Education requires each school to plan and report annually on provincial and local goals and strategies.

School planning and reporting are integral components of school-based decision making. Responses and feedback received will assist the district in meeting its commitment to quality education for all students.

Please take a few moments to share your thoughts through this online survey:  http://bit.ly/11QfRyS

We are providing an online parent satisfaction survey for you to complete prior to May 24th at 4:00 pm. If you require a paper version of the survey, please contact the office and we will forward one to you. The data from the survey is used in the Annual Education Results Report (AERR) from each school.

MDH Honour Roll and Awards

Thank you to parents, students and staff members who participated in our survey in November and December. We will be having further discussions regarding the honour roll and awards at Ecole Madeleine d’Houet at our next School council meeting on Tuesday, January 15 @ 6:30 pm.

Meanwhile, here is a link to our survey results. Please have a quick look to see the opinions of those who participated in the survey.

Alberta Health HPV Vaccines

The Calgary Catholic School District does not offer the HPV Vaccine in our schools. Each year, we provide parents with an information package that includes letters from the Alberta Bishops and our Chief Superintendent, as well as information regarding opportunities for parents of Grade 5 girls who choose to have the vaccine administered without cost. The district package and the letter from Alberta Health Services appear below. For more information, please visit http://www.cssd.ab.ca/default.asp?V_ITEM_ID=2029
