Our school is located in city of Airdrie, Alberta, Canada. We are part of the greater Calgary Catholic School District – a publicly funded Catholic school system. Our school population includes students in an English program from  kindergarten to grade 8 and in a French Immersion program from  kindergarten to grade 8.
As a Catholic Community of Caring, we make every effort to create an atmosphere that fosters respect and encourages student participation. We also offer literacy support programs, English-as-a-Second Language,  Resource Support and two classrooms supporting children with diverse needs.
The Administrative team at Our Lady Queen of Peace School has an open door policy for all of our school community. We encourage all parents to contact us with any questions or concerns that may arise throughout the school year. Please call (403) 500-2064 to speak to us or to book an appointment.

Parents of Students with Diverse Learning Needs
Students with diverse learning needs are entitled to a continuum of supports, services and educational programs that are aligned with their abilities, strengths, interests, and attitudes. Students with diverse learning needs include a range of cultures, languages and those students who require targeted and/or specialized supports and services. As mandated by Alberta Education, the focus is on the creation of student learner profiles in order to ensure that support for diverse learners is provided through individualized and personalized learning programs that can be delivered in a regular classroom or in a specialized program. Programming supports for diverse learners are differentiated in order the meet the student’s needs and they can include any of the following; Individualized Program Plan (IPP), Student Assessment Portfolio (SAP), benchmarks, Individual Support Plan (ISP), Behaviour Support Plan (BSP), health related services, in-home family support, behaviour/mental health support, and district consultative supports. With a focus on providing engaging learning opportunities for all diverse learners, the development of knowledge, competencies, and skills in an inclusive environment are paramount.  Students with diverse learning needs should be registered at their local school, which is a parent’s first contact for specialized programming information, support, and consultation..
