Congratulations to Drew Kuhn who won the bronze medal at the Provincial Wrestling Competition!  Bishop Grandin Wrestling had a team of 24 this year. Mr. Joines, Mr. Cameron & Mr. Loucks coached a lot of new talent on the team and the future looks bright for Grandin Wrestling. Drew Khun, a grade 12 student athlete excels in academics and athletics.  Drew fought very well at the Calgary Cities tournament and qualified for the provincials, she once again “fought extremely well” as Coach Joines said, and she was rewarded with a Bronze medal for her efforts. Congratulations to Drew and all of the 2009/10 Ghosts wrestling team.

Congratulations to our Senior Boys’ basketball team who earned a berth in the Provincial Championships by winning a silver medal in the Division I Boys City Championships on Saturday, March 13.  The team played a very exciting game against number 1 ranked Western Canada in the finals but was unable to overcome Western’s 3 point shooters.  This game topped off an impressive 9-1 in the regular season and an overall record of 25-7 for the Ghosts. The Bishop Grandin Winterguard won first place in the 2010 Arts In Motion  Winterguard competition.  The troupe was cited as one of the most advanced in the competition this year.  Congratulations to all involved!!

  Congratulations to David Carpenter and Matt Huitema who were Gold Medal winners in Duet Acting at the Provincial Speech Tournament held at Webber Academy on February, 20^th.  David and Matt were ‘White Hatted’ by the City of Calgary as ‘special Calgary citizens’ because of their achievement!  We would also like to congratulate Jennifer Misurelli and Steven Herman who competed in Original Oratory and were excellent representatives of Bishop Grandin!  Congratulations to all!!
