Principal's Message
Welcome to St. Alphonsus Fine Arts School website! We are very excited to launch this new website. We hope you will find it informative and valuable throughout the year. As you browse through the site, you will notice important information about our school's philosophy, program happenings and upcoming events. Keeping a website current and user-friendly can be challenging. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we continue to work on developing and improving our site. It is our goal to ensure that this site will enhance our communication and provide us with an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful work of our creative school community.
St. Alphonsus Fine Arts School is a supportive, caring and creative environment where students from kindergarten to grade nine are enthusiastic about learning and are able to succeed. Students who attend our school come from the northwest and northeast quadrants of the city. Both our elementary and junior high programs follow the mandated Alberta Program of Studies, with a focus on integration of the arts in elementary and specialized fine arts courses from grades seven to nine. Celebration of student achievement in the arts is an important aspect of our school community, with students being involved in many celebrations to showcase their accomplishments in art, music and drama.
As part of the Calgary Catholic School District, we are a Community of Caring school, which promotes the core values of the Gospel, so that our faith is integrated into our day to day learning and living. Through formal Religion classes, Liturgical celebrations and the many service programs we offer, our students are able to deepen their understanding of our faith and develop an appreciation for their spiritual journey. Our core purpose is to work closely with our students and parents to foster a safe, creative and supportive Catholic fine arts school so that ALL can achieve their maximum potential through a holistic learning environment.
Each school year brings with it new challenges and new opportunities for your children. As a staff, we are highly dedicated and committed to providing wonderful learning environments and we look forward to working with you in helping your children succeed and achieve their dreams.
