Myra D'Souza

Myra D'Souza represents wards 1, 2 and Cochrane and is currently chair of the Audit Committee. She served as vice-chair of the board and chair of the Chief/Board of Trustees Evaluation Committee from 2018-2019.

avatarMyra holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Psychology and Human Resources, and a Corporate Chartered Director's Designation (C.Dir.) from McMasters University. Myra was selected as one of Canada's Top 50 Most Diverse Persons to sit on FP500 Boards and was presented with the O'CANADA Award for her outstanding international and national volunteer work. Myra's extensive board experience includes: Commissioner on the Calgary Police Commission, Chair of Corrections Canada Advisory, Director of Calgary Co-op, Director of Calgary Urban Aboriginal Initiative, and member of the National Investigation Board. She is passionate about preparing students on the international stage, being a voice for the voiceless and is a strong supporter of diversity and inclusion. Myra enjoys volunteering, has represented Canada at the United Nations, is multilingual, travelled for one year as a Peace Ambassador for Up With People International and has lived and traveled in 23 countries. She is also a proud mother of two children.
