Calgary Catholic School District elects board chair and vice-chair for 2016-2017 school year
Calgary, Alberta – The Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) board of trustees elected a chair and vice-chair for the 2016-2017 school year at its organizational meeting held this evening.
Cheryl Low will again serve as the board chair for the 2016-2017 year. Cheryl Low is serving her first term as a member of the Board of Trustees and represents wards 9, 10 and Chestermere. For the past 15 years she has been actively involved in education as a parent, a school council chair, a facilitator for Alberta School Councils’ Association and a participant in Alberta Education initiatives.
Margaret Belcourt will serve as vice-chair for the 2016-2017 term. Margaret Belcourt is currently in her fifth term as a member of the Board of Trustees for wards 4 and 7, and has served as both vice-chair and chair in previous years. Mrs. Belcourt was a teacher in CCSD for 35 years. She has a Bachelor of Education degree and a Master’s degree in Education Administration.
