Restricted Enrolment - Programs of Choice
Help Plan Our Future processes include the ability to meet with our public when there is a need to consider restricted enrolment procedures. It is appropriate to implement a public participation process when the district is in a position of having to inform parents that there is no room for them at their neighborhood school and their child must be redirected to another school. In the case of programs of choice, the parent is simply being advised that the program of choice they desire is unavailable to them, but they are not being redirected. Given that enrolment in programs of choice is monitored by the district, and the placement of new programs is an administrative decision determined on the basis of need, it is appropriate that there is no public participation when programs of choice are at or near capacity. Restricted Enrolment – Christ the King School
In the boundary decision letter for Our Lady of the Rosary School, published in June, 2015, there were some stipulations with respect to future enrolment at Christ the King School. On April 27, 2017 restricted enrolment procedures were implemented at Christ the King School. Based upon a review of current and future population trends for Christ the King School, the district has modified the restricted enrolment procedures.
