Eligibility criteria

Students are eligible for transportation if they meet the following criteria:

Kindergarten & Elementary

Kindergarten and elementary students in the City of Calgary residing 1.2 kilometers or more from their designated school may be eligible to receive transportation. Students who opt to attend district-wide programs (Example: Programs of Choice, French Immersion, etc) with associated boundaries, residing 1.2 kilometers or more from their school may be eligible to receive transportation. The Application for Transportation form must be completed and returned to the school.

Junior High & High School

Junior and Senior High students in the City of Calgary residing 2.4 kilometers or more from their designated school may be eligible to receive subsidized Calgary Transit bus passes, upon application, where regularly scheduled Calgary transit service exists.


Students living outside Calgary

Students from K-12 who reside in the Airdrie, Chestermere and Cochrane area are encouraged to visit rockyview.ab.ca/transportation, contact your local Catholic school or email the Rocky View School District Transportation department for more information or to register.


Students attending a Program of Choice school

Students enrolled in a Program of Choice that is not at their designated school are not eligible for a transit rebate under Bill 1.

A Program of Choice is defined as the following:
Advanced Placement (AP); Chamber Ensemble Strings; Extended French; Hockey Canada Skills Academy; International Baccalaureate (IB); Bishop Carroll Self-Directed program; Bishop Grandin Senior High Marching Band; Spanish Bilingual; CTF programs; Home Schooling; students residing outside of Calgary but attending a Calgary school; etc.
