The purpose of the Student Advisory Council (SAC) is to build community among all of our high schools. Each school is represented by two to three students who meet regularly throughout the district to exchange ideas pertaining to educational and social issues, while developing their personal leadership skills.
SAC has evolved into a meaningful, consultative voice of the students of the Calgary Catholic School District. These students are involved in diverse activities that give them the opportunity to present their views on various topics pertinent to the district.
SAC has worked diligently to promote a positive profile of high school students. Each year, students volunteer their time and energy through acts of service in the community. They also have the opportunity to participate in fundraising and awareness campaigns within their own schools.
Leadership, service, mutual influence and community among high school students of the Calgary Catholic School District are goals of SAC. All of the work of SAC is undertaken with the understanding that all students will be contributors to society and dedicated to the common good, consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
