Career Discovery Program

We offer students in grades 10 and 11 opportunities to explore careers in the workplace while they earn high school credits. Students are usually placed in an unpaid, 75-hour summer position where they shadow a mentor in their chosen career field. We pursue placements in engineering, law, veterinary medicine, architecture, information technology, aviation, avionics and aircraft maintenance. If students are interested in exploring a different field, we encourage them to approach a mentor to see if he/she would be interested in being a part of this program.

Enrolment Requirements

Interested students must meet with their off-campus education teacher to discuss program details, complete the online safety course HCS3000 by mid June and submit a Career Discovery application form. We can't guarantee that every student who applies for a Career Discovery position will be placed. Students who are selected will be contacted in May or June for an interview.
