Designated attendance areas for schools
The Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) has designated attendance areas for all schools. CCSD uses attendance areas strategically to ensure optimal student populations that support viable programming across the district. It is the expectation that students will attend their designated school. Please be aware that school attendance areas can and do change to accommodate factors including changing demographic information, the opening or closing of a school, to relieve overcrowding in schools, etc.
Priorities - We are only accepting registrations from Priority 1 students.
1.) Priority is given to Catholic families (resident students) within our attendance areas.
2.) Out of attendance area Catholic students. Please ensure you are registered at your designated Catholic school. **We are not accepting families to our wait list at this time or registrations from this priority due to space and resource considerations.**
3.) Non-Catholic families (non-resident) within our attendance areas. Please ensure you are registered at your designated public school. **We are not accepting registrations from this priority due to space and resource considerations.**
4.) Non-Catholic families (non-resident) outside our attendance areas. Please ensure you are registered at your designated school. **We are not accepting registrations from this priority due to space and resource considerations.**
All non-Catholic students are expected to take Religious Education and to participate in various celebrations.
We accept Catholic and non-Catholic students for Kindergarten. For non-Catholic Kindergarten students there is no guarantee that your child will have a spot for Grade 1. For grades 1-12, the district priority is for Catholic students. If there is space and resources for Grade 1 you would be notified during the end of the Kindergarten year if there is room to continue forward.
All Calgary Catholic elementary schools offer a half-day kindergarten program. You may indicate your preference for the morning or afternoon class, however depending on total kindergarten enrollment, we cannot guarantee accommodation of this preference. A child who turns five years old on or before December 31 is eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall of that same year. For example, to register for kindergarten in September 2020, a child must turn five years old on or before December 31, 2020. Your child’s birth certificate and proof of address are required at the time of registration.
Grades 1 – 12
A child who turns six years old on or before December 31 is eligible to register for Grade 1 in that fall of that same year. For example, to register for Grade 1 in September 2020 children must turn six years old on or before December 31, 2020. The child’s birth certificate, proof of address, and one parent’s Catholic baptismal certificate (or the student's) is requested to be presented at the time of registration. Resident Catholic students transitioning from kindergarten to Grade 1 in the same school do not need to re-register for Grade 1. Non-resident students need to inquire with the principal of the school to determine if they will be able to register for Grade 1 based on available room and resources. Parents of students not previously registered at any grade level should call the school for an appointment to register.
New students to Canada

Students whose first language is not English may be required to complete an English language proficiency assessment. District interpreter services for this appointment are available upon request at no cost to the family. To book an appointment to register, please call 403-500-2007.
