Kindergarten & Elementary Students (City of Calgary)

Check your address using the 1.8 km transportation map attached at the bottom of this page. A student enrolled in kindergarten or elementary school (Grades 1 to 6) is eligible to receive transportation if the student meets all the following criteria:

  • the student is enrolled in the school
  • the student resides inside the City of Calgary
  • the student resides inside the school’s regular attendance area or Program of Choice attendance area
  • the student resides at least a certain distance from the school, as specified in our annual Fee Rebate Schedule.

Please complete Form 560-1 if your child meets all the criteria above and you wish to apply for transportation. Please hand deliver or email the completed form to your child’s school.

Junior and Senior High students (City of Calgary)

A parent of a student enrolled in junior or senior high school (Grades 7 to 12) is eligible to receive a monthly Calgary Transit bus pass rebate if the student and the student’s parent meet all the following criteria:

  • the student is enrolled in the school
  • the student resides inside the City of Calgary
  • the student resides inside the school’s regular attendance area
  • the student resides at least a certain distance from the school, as specified in our annual Fee Rebate Schedule
  • the student’s parent purchases Calgary Transit bus passes directly from Calgary Transit or an authorized vendor.

A parent of a student who is enrolled in a Program of Choice at a junior or senior high school outside the regular attendance area in which the student resides does not qualify for Calgary Transit bus pass rebates.

CCSD will not be able to reimburse Transit Pass purchases for eligible students if students purchase tickets electronically via Calgary Transit’s “My Fare” App.

Students who wish to apply for the district’s monthly Transit Pass Rebate must purchase monthly youth transit passes at convenience stores only, as you did last year. Please refrain from using Calgary Transit’s new “MyFare” app until further notice. CCSD will be working with Calgary Transit later in the year to see whether we will be able to accept MyFare purchases and provide rebates for purchases made using this new electronic method.

Programs of Choice

A student who is enrolled in a Program of Choice may be eligible to receive transportation. Currently, students enrolled in only the following Programs of Choice are eligible to receive transportation:

  • Elementary School French Immersion
  • Elementary School Spanish Bilingual
  • Elementary School Fine Arts

A student enrolled in a Program of Choice listed above must reside in the applicable Program of Choice attendance area to be eligible to receive transportation.

Students outside their Attendance Areas

A student who is enrolled in a school and resides in neither the school’s regular attendance area nor the school’s Program of Choice attendance area is generally not eligible to receive any transportation unless the student’s parent conveys the student to a pre-existing charter bus stop and a seat is available on the charter bus. Please contact your child’s school if you have questions about this option.

Students living outside Calgary

We have entered into an agreement with Rocky View Schools to provide for the transportation of students who reside outside the City of Calgary and who are enrolled in a Calgary Catholic school outside the City of Calgary. Please contact Rocky View Schools directly to enquire about eligibility for transportation for Calgary Catholic students who reside outside the City of Calgary.

Calgary Transit

For those students in Calgary who live outside of the eligible walk limit areas and must instead take Calgary Transit, you can use Calgary Transit’s Google trip function to plot your bus trips.
