Wrestling is being reintroduced to Ascension of Our Lord after many years without a team. Grade seven and eight boys and girls will be encouraged to participate during our inaugural season.

Due to the nature of wrestling, it can be a sport for anyone. There is no certain physical aspect that guarantees success. Results are based on individual effort and performance on the mat, however, all the social aspects of a team sport still exist. Students practice together, travel together, and there are team titles and team events. In wrestling, we focus on sportsmanship, discipline, and respect, which keeps our students safe, and gives them a positive environment for new friendships and exercise, opportunities for future growth, and increases their self-confidence.

For the 2018 season, practices will be as follows:

Boys- Tuesday 3:30pm, Thursday 7:45am

Girls- Tuesday 7:45am, Thursday 3:30pm

Both boys and girls will have fitness training on Monday at 3:30pm and Friday at 7:45am.

The divisional meet will be held at St. Rose of Lima School on Tuesday, Nov 20.

City finals will be held at Notre Dame High School. Girls will compete on Friday, December 7 starting at 3:30pm and boys will start at 8:00am on Saturday, December 8.
