2019-2020 GRADE 7-9 TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Students in grades K to 6 who live farther than 1.2 km from the school are eligible to ride charter buses to school. When these students move up to grade 7 their transportation options change:

  1. Junior high students are not eligible to ride the charter buses to school, even if they have younger siblings. They take Calgary Transit and must pay a fare.There are a couple of exceptions to this – students who live in Greenwood Village or in the Valley Woods area of Valley Ridge still take the charter bus as these areas are not serviced by Calgary Transit.
  2. Students living in Crestmont and Valley Ridge will have access to a Calgary Transit bus route that is dedicated to our school.Route information will be emailed to parents in August. The current schedule (Route 896) can be viewed on our school website under Transportation Schedules.
  3. Most students who live in Bowness do not live farther than the 2.4 km walk boundary.If you are not sure about this, please contact the office.
  4. JH Students who live farther than 2.4 km from the school are eligible for a monthly rebate when a Calgary Transit month pass is purchased. The 2019/2020 rebate is $54.90 per month. The Calgary Transit Rebate Form 2019 2020 must be filled out and returned to the office (originals only – no scanned documents) for rebates to be processed. Please see the back of the attached form for Terms and Conditions and rebate dates.
  5. Students who do not live farther than 2.4 from the school can still take Calgary Transit to school, but they do not quality for the Transit pass rebate.
