St.Albert the Great- Sept 2018
REGISTRATION FOR SACRAMENTS … EXTENDED!
If you have not yet had a chance to register for the sacraments at St. Albert the Great Parish, we invite you to do so right away!
Though the initial cut-off for sacrament registration at St. Albert the Great was September 30, we are extending the deadline to Monday, October 15 (the date of the parent session for First Reconciliation & First Eucharist).
Please don’t hesitate to sign up!
FIRST EUCHARIST / FIRST RECONCILIATION PARENT INFORMATION SESSION
Preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist will begin with a parent session at St. Albert the Great Parish on Monday, October 15 at 6:30pm (children preparing for the sacrament are not required to attend, just their parents).
For First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, because preparation will be standardized throughout the diocese, if parents are unable to attend the parent information session at St. Albert the Great, they must attend the parent session scheduled on Sunday, October 28th at Holy Trinity instead.
If looking to attend a makeup session at another parish, please contact Dan to arrange: firstname.lastname@example.org
PARISH WELCOME FOR FIRST RECONCILIATION
For any families participating in preparation for First Reconciliation at St. Albert the Great, we will be offering a prayerful opportunity for candidates to be mark the beginning of their journey and be a visible witness to the parish.
Children preparing for this sacrament, and their families, are invited to attend any regular Mass on the weekend of October 27/28 (Saturday 5pm, Sunday 9am/11am/5pm) to be acknowledged by the parish.
Details will be provided at the parent meeting on October 15.
FIRST RECONCILIATION SESSION #1 (FOR CHILDREN AND PARENTS)

There will be two times available to attend: 4:30pm & 6:30pm. Students of Blessed Cardinal Newman, St. Marguerite, Msgr. Smith, Our Lady of the Rosary, St. Albert the Great School, and Divine Mercy are encouraged to attend the 4:30pm session; students of Christ the King, St. Isabella, Prince of Peace, and all other schools are encouraged to attend the 6:30pm session. PRIEST STUDY DAYS
During the week of October 1 through to October 4, Daily Mass at St. Albert the Great Parish (both morning and evening) will be cancelled due to the Priest’s Study Days with His Excellency, Bishop McGrattan. Mass will return on Friday, October 5 beginning at 9:00 am and 6:30 pm with our First Friday Mass and Healing Service.
As St. Albert the Great Parish continues to grow, we find that we need to complete a parish census to ensure that we have accurate data regarding our parishioners. Hospitality will be handing out the forms during the first two weekends in October (Oct 6-7 and Oct 13-14) and we ask that you return the forms to the parish office with all the fields completed. This information is for our parish office use only. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact the parish office.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY – REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY OPEN
This program is for children ages 4-7 years old and registration is $20 per child, or $50 per family. We NEED volunteers to help run the lessons and share God’s teachings with our children. Children’s Liturgy is a High Risk Ministry, and without the required number of cleared adult volunteers, we will not be able to start the program. Please consider this ministry and sign-up at the registration table, or contact the Coordinators for more information at email@example.com. No experience is required, just a willing heart! Bonus: Scheduled volunteers do not pay for their child(ren)’s registration.
