MRS. RIZZA CASAS- ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY

I am blessed to be part of the Holy Child team. Originally from Philippines, our family moved to Canada in 2007. I have been with the district for over 9 years now. I started as Noon Hour Assistant and was given a chance to work in the school office since 2010. My husband and I were blessed with 2 children, one in high school and the other in university. Our family loves to travel, watch movies, gardening and simply spending time at home. It is going to be another exciting year in our beautiful school!

MS. ADELAIDE MCGUIGAN - LEARNING COMMONS LIBARIAN

I am the new Learning Commons librarian at Holy Child School. As a new graduate of the Library Information Technology program at SAIT Polytechnic I am extremely knowledgeable of modern library science. I enjoyed my studies at SAIT, especially the Story Telling and Children and Young Adult Services classes. One of my practicums was located at Saint Francis High School with the Calgary Catholic School District. There, I was first introduced the Calgary Catholic School district and how rewarding and fun it is to be a Learning Commons Librarian in the district. I love helping others to become passionate about Learning Commons and nurturing those that share my passion. In my spare time I am an avid reader, creative writer and love being outdoors especially in the mountains. Before living in Calgary I was born in Ottawa, then lived in Whitehorse, Yukon before eventually moving to Calgary. I am extremely excited to be part of the Holy Child school team.

MRS. JANE ALANO - EDUCATION ASSISTANT / NOON HOUR ASSISTANT

Hi. I am Jane Alano and I am thrilled to be part of the Holy Child School community. I came to Canada in 2002 from the Philippines. I immediately started volunteering at my daughter's school. It was there that I saw up close how critical school is in a child's life. I decided then that I wanted to be a part of the education system particularly CSSD. I started working as a noon hour assistant in 2012 at Our Lady of Peace.

I live in Silverado with my loving husband, 2 lovely daughters and the most adorable furry son, Oreo.

MRS. CELIA GREEN - EDUCATION ASSISTANT

Hi, my name is Celia Green. I am excited to join the Holy Child Team. I was born and raised in Calgary, have watched to grow, and married my High School sweetheart. We have 4 grown adult boys, 2 dogs and 2 cats. In total I have 7 years with CSSD as an Educational Assistant. I love working with students and watching them grow as they continue on their path to graduation. In my spare time, I do bookkeeping, spend time with my husband and family, and go for walks with my dogs. I love to cook and bake for family and friends. I also enjoy volunteering at the YMCA where I meet lots of fascinating people.

MRS. MARYORIE LEON - EDUCATION ASSISTANT & NOON HOUR ASSISTANT

Hi! My name is Maryorie Leon. I am very happy and blessed to start a new experience at Holy Child School and be a part of an amazing staff.

I am from Venezuela. I came to Canada in 2012. I am married and a mother of three wonderful children; a 16 year old daughter, another 14 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. In my spare time, I enjoy to read, bike riding and especially dance Latin-American music like salsa and merengue. I love to spend time with my family and friends. I worked as Noon Hour Assistant at Monsignor JJ O’Brien. Working with children is one of my passion. Helping and encouraging students to achieve their goals is one of my greatest satisfaction. I look forward to contributing to the success of the Holy Child School community.

MS. RUBA NASSER - EDUCATION ASSISTANT / NOON HOUR ASSISTANT

After a 13-year practice in Health Care and Medicine, I reoriented my career towards the Educational Field, leveraging my work experience with children and following my passion of giving and caring. Being a mother of two lovely twin girls, I believe that “how we take care of our children today decides how their tomorrow is going to shape”.

I have been working with the Calgary Catholic School District since January 2015, as an Education Assistant and Noon Hour Assistant. I have enriched my experience with a number of skills pertinent to this new career such as the ability to be able to work in team environments and communicate effectively with children, taking initiatives and being creative in building trust and establishing strong relationships with the students to help them overcome their challenges.

I had worked overseas in Europe and in the Middle East; I speak English, French and Arabic. I am a proud Canadian that wishes to spread Canadian values of community, generosity and integrity, wherever I travel, and wish peace and love across the world.
