The goal of the school counseling program is to work closely with parents, teachers and school administrators to provide all students with the best possible resources and services. The school counselor can offer support and encouragement and teach skills in the areas of personal, social, academic and career development through both individual, small group, large group and school wide programs. Through these comprehensive services, the school counseling program will assist all children in reaching their highest potential, allowing them to feel confident in their abilities to succeed in all areas of life.

The School Counselor:
  • Is available to all students
  • Promotes spiritual, personal, social and academic development
  • Assists students in coping with life's demands and developing positive self-esteem, individual responsibility and accountability, and other skills necessary for positive citizenship
  • Provides accessible and confidential counseling support to students and their families
  • Promotes communication and mutual support between school, home, district supports and outside agencies
  • Provides support and guidance to students as they explore career and educational paths
  • Facilitates referrals to community resources
