School Council within Holy Spirit:

School Council takes an active role at Holy Spirit. We are a parent-based assembly looking to improve the school community in order to develop and enhance the overall communication within the school. We have many activities that we are involved in over the course of the year, and all require some degree of volunteerism. Giving of your time and talents can be the one thing you can give back your kids, by showing them that you want to be involved in the school that they go to. This sets an example, one, which the school tries to promote and enhance by building on the foundation that we, as parents, have already begun to build.

Executive

The positions of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are elected positions, with the position being a 2 year term with an option for a third year. All positions must be elected at the AGM of the School Council. That night members at large are also appointed. These are members of the school community who recognize the need for a quorum at a meeting so that decisions can be made and voted on.

Executive:

  • Chair - Laura Talsma jackson.talsma@gmail.com
  • Vice-Chair – Joseph Aranzaes
  • Treasurer – Jayda Howard
  • Secretary – Lindsay Seewalt
  • Parents at large – Jan Quinlan, V.S. and Chelsea Paolini

Committees

There are also a number of organized committees that work under school council to deal with specific areas of school interest. These committees are set up by groups of interested parents and anyone can attend the meetings. The committees are self-contained and report to the school council regularly at the monthly school council meetings, or as needed.

  • Parish/School Liaison
