Grade 1 Enjoys Musical Ride at Msgr. Doyle
Our grade ones had front row seats for a personalized view of the Lord Strathcona's Horse Musical Ride performing at Monsignor Doyle. They enjoyed these horses' showmanship.
Here is a video of one of their drills: Musical Ride Performance
Father's Day at MMG
As you may already know, some of our students in Grade 3 were
interviewed by Dave Kelly about their fathers. Please click on the link
to hear what your sweet ones shared about their dads! Honest,
Grade 1's held a craft night after school with their Dad's.
AARCS Visits Grade 3
The grade three's were treated to a special presentation by AARCS,
a local organization that helps animals in our city. This education
opportunity was part of a special project based learning Social Studies project
the grade three's are working on. This is a project that Miss Goosen is
planning for the District called "Little Hearts, BIG Impact".
Students have been working in groups to make up their own organizations
to help solve a school problem/issue. They have to write speeches, make a plan
and then market their organization. What better way to learn how to run an
organization then through AARCS?!
AARCS came to both classes on Monday and presented to the
students about their organization and the impact they are having on our
communities. They shared some amazing rescue stories and taught the
students why they are so passionate about their cause. On top of all that
learning, they also shared some furry friends with us! To support AARCS, we collected food, pet items to donate to this wonderful organization.
Visitors in Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten students enjoyed having a couple of visitors for a two week period. They named the ducks Cody and Diamond. They spent time watching them walk around, splash in the water and feeding them. On their last day, they drew pictures of them.
MMG Family Dance
Our school family dance was held on May 6 and was a big success. The students enjoyed the Star Wars theme.
District Art Walk
We are so proud of Victoria K. (Gr. 6) whose art work was chosen to be displayed in our district art walk. She received her award from Superintendent Gary Struthers.
