Parent chaperones attend free and are well fed and have a modest schedule

Instrument Rental fee is $100 and has been since 1997 (!) This includes a non-refundable $50 administration fee. CCSD believes in providing an economical option for students to explore instrumental music that is the envy of other districts. Student families MUST complete their online contract and pay (or make arrangements for) their $100 rental fee by Fri., Sept. 6 before touching an instrument, or the instrument will be withdrawn from the student.

December and May concerts in the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall of the UofC Rosza Centre are $15 in advance, purchased by cash or cheque through the NDMF drop box. We sell-out 100% well in advance. There are NO sales at the door! Note: families who do not participate in fundraising are NOT eligible to purchase concert tickets at $15, which are subsidized through NDMF fundraising. Concert uniforms consist of “Concert Black
student/family-supplied: i.e.: you choose a style, fit and budget that works for you

  1. BLACK* dress pants NO: skirts, shorts, jeans, dresses, or casual pants of any type
  2. BLACK* Belt Solid black belt with modest standard belt buckle
  3. BLACK* button-down long-sleeved dress shirt with collar
    • NO: sweaters, t-shirts, hoodies, sleeveless tops, or casual tops of any type
    • NO: logos, stripes, whites, greys, or colours
  4. BLACK* dress shoes
    • NO: sneakers or casual shoes of any type
    • NO: stripes, whites, greys, or colours
  5. solid BLACK* socks student/family purchased
  6. NDHS Music vest ($50) & clip-on tie ($20) from Notre Dame Music Foundation. Note: this is a one-time purchase and is owned by the student for the duration of high school.

*There is NO substitute for BLACK: not navy, not brown, not purple, and not worn black = grey.

Our “Concert Black” uniform stands in contrast to other high schools that spend hundreds of dollars on uniforms and charge students up to $100/year to rent them. We respect the different values of other learning communities but are proud that we economize on uniforms at NDHS when music is already very costly for families.
