CCSD Signs New Contracts with Four Transportation Providers After Request for Proposal Process
When the value of a possible contract for services or materials exceeds a certain threshold dollar amount, the Calgary Catholic School District is required to conduct a formal RFP process that is open to all bidders who wish to submit a proposal for the possible contract.
On January 31, 2019, Calgary Catholic posted two publically-accessible RFPs—one for regular transportation services and one for diverse learner transportation services. A Calgary Catholic RFP evaluation committee evaluated, scored, and ranked all the submitted proposals based on the specific criteria that were outlined in the RFP instructions to all bidders. In April 2019, Calgary Catholic invited the four top-ranked bidders to enter into direct contract negotiations.
Recently, the contract negotiations concluded, and the parties finalized the contracts. Calgary Catholic can now announce that beginning September 2019, the following service providers will provide transportation services:
Regular Program K-6 Yellow Bus Service: Southland Transportation and First Student
Diverse Learning Program Service: DREAMS and 4Seasons
Please see the attached list to find out which company(ies) will be serving students at your school next year.
These service provider changes may impact your school, your students and parents next year and particularly at the beginning of the new school year.
Please understand that CCSD will work together with school administrators and parents as well as the new bus companies and their new bus drivers to smooth out issues that may arise.
