Division 1 Teachers (Grades 1-3):

Lina Walker: Division 1 teacher

Hello Prince of Peace families,

What a fabulous first year we had at POP. I am truly blessed to be part of a such amazing school community.

I love teaching grade one and receive so much joy from watching a child develop their love of learning in my classroom. It truly is a rewarding experience, as each student learns to read, write and be challenged to be the best they can be. I believe like the children, we are lifelong learners. I learn from them each day and encourage them use the gifts that God has given them.

I have been part of CCSD for almost 20 years. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy travelling, camping and watching my two boys play soccer/hockey. I look forward to sharing my love of learning with your children.

Chantelle Mooney: Division 1 teacher

I am very excited to be part of the teaching team at Prince of Peace! I love to watch students explore and discover the world around them. They get so excited as they begin to read more words every day and write their own stories. Children have so many talents and I always look forward to helping them discover new things they didn't even know they could do! In my free time I enjoy riding horses and doing arts and crafts. I have four children and several pets. I am really looking forward to this year, and I can’t wait to help make Prince of Peace a great place to be!

Andrea Vos: Division 1 teacher

Hello Grade 1's and 2's! Andrea Vos is my name, and I am excited to be teaching some of you curious learners. My goal for the year is for all of my students to love coming to school. I believe in creating an atmosphere of learning where all children have the ability to grow and develop in a fun, respectful, safe, inspiring environment. I use an inquiry based, project based, and hands on learning approach to teaching and learning. I hope to teach my students to be creative 21st century learners, who will learn how to question, rethink and create new ideas and discoveries. Songs, math centers, literacy centers and learning games are a few ways I get the students in my class excited about learning. I am thrilled to be a part of the Prince of Peace community and am committed to teaching excellence!

Diane Gray: Division 1 teacher

Hello everyone. When I was thinking about what to share in my ‘bio’ I was reminded of the fact that I wear the hat of many different names. My favorite name is “grandma” to 2 awesome preschool boys and a newborn infant girl. I am “mom” to three adult girls – and the role of mom never really goes on pause.

As a “teacher” I strive to give my students the care and attention I would want for my own daughters and grandchildren. Your child is important to me and I will do my best to make this year an awesome year. I will work to encourage a love of learning as well as showing your child how to lead by example in helping others. Children can also be teachers, they remind us to see the beauty in God’s creation, they remind us to play and enjoy the life we have been given. I look forward to this year and I thank you for trusting me with your most valuable gift – your child.
