Diverse Learning Coordinating Teacher (DLT):

Catherine Carpenter

I feel blessed to have this opportunity to work together with an exceptional staff and the families of Auburn Bay in building the Prince of Peace community. Supporting children with diverse needs in a caring, kind and inclusive environment is my passion. I have worked in a variety of settings throughout Calgary Catholic as a Teacher, Consultant and Diverse Learning Coordinating Teacher.

My two sons are currently completing post graduate studies and fondly recall their years attending Blessed Cardinal Newman and Bishop Grandin. I love to walk my two cavalier spaniels and spend time with extended family. I enjoy cycling, hiking, golfing, reading and attending live theatre events. My husband and I are keen travellers and delight in exploring the back roads of Canada and many European destinations.

Trish Corney:

Being a born and raised Calgary girl, I am all too familiar with being a student in the CCSD. I have also been teaching since 1998 and I absolutely love working in a K-9 environment! It excites me to be around so many different grade levels and see older students helping the little ones tie their shoes or catch the Gingerbread Man at Christmas. I believe that God has blessed each individual student with a set of unique gifts and talents and it is my job as a teacher to help each individual shine. I am passionate about technology, literacy, and problem solving. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, running, and swimming. I look forward to meeting new students each year and watching those students I know blossom into young men and women. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!

Hello Prince of Peace families! As a counsellor, I love having the opportunity to support our K-9 students solve problems, make decisions, and find balance in all aspects of life. I can’t wait to continue building those relationships, and making new ones! I feel so blessed to be working alongside an amazing staff, and am looking forward to another year together.

I began my career in Manitoba as a junior and senior high teacher, before moving into my position as school counsellor. I was fortunate to spend 12 years living in the United States, Russia, and Europe before coming back to Canada and making Calgary home. I have a wonderful hubby of 10 years, and 2 energetic littles that make my life complete. Looking forward to seeing all our P.O.P. families in the fall!
