ASH WEDNESDAY

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6. Masses at St. Albert the Great Parish are 9:00am and 6:30pm that day.

FRIDAY STATIONS OF THE CROSS DURING LENT

Stations of the Cross will take place at St. Albert the Great Parish at 6:30pm on Fridays in Lent, with the exception of April 5 (First Friday evening Mass) and April 19 (Good Friday).

CWL TOONIE SHAMROCK SWEETS SALE

The CWL will be selling St. Patrick’s themed cookies and Rice Krispie squares in the Narthex after the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses on Sunday, March 17 at St. Albert the Great Church. Each bag of sweets is $2 with proceeds going towards the National CWL Convention in Calgary this summer.

COMING ALIVE CAMP NEEDS ADULT VOLUNTEERS AND YOUTH LEADERS!

Please join us for this great opportunity. Camp runs from July 15 to 19 in the morning at St. Albert the Great Parish. Any interested Youth entering grades 7-12 are welcome to apply by emailing comingalivecamp@gail.com. We are also still in need of Adult volunteers. Please help us to make camp a great success once again!

COMING ALIVE CAMP REGISTRATION – Registration will take place on Saturday, April 6 beginning at 9:30 am until 11:00 am in the St. Albert the Great Church basement. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high demand, each adult may register one family’s children only. Please bring the Alberta Health Care Cards for each child as well as emergency contact information. Full payment of $40 per child is due at time of registration. Please make cheques payable to St. Albert the Great Parish.

BAPTISM PREPARATION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Do you love your Catholic faith? Do you have a desire to share that love with young couples preparing to have their child baptized? Baptism Preparation typically takes place from 10:00 am until Noon on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at St. Albert the Great Parish. Preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation will begin with a parent session at St. Albert the Great Parish on Monday, December 3 at 6:30pm (children preparing for the sacrament are not required to attend, just their parents).

PARISH WELCOME FOR CONFIRMATION

For any families participating in preparation for Confirmation at St. Albert the Great, we will be offering a prayerful opportunity for candidates to be mark the beginning of their journey and be a visible witness to the parish.

Children preparing for this sacrament, and their families, are invited to attend any regular Mass on the weekend of January 19th/20th (Saturday 5pm, Sunday 9am/11am/5pm) to be acknowledged by the parish.

Details will be provided at the Confirmation parent meeting on December 3.

CONFIRMATION SESSION #1 (FOR CANDIDATES AND PARENTS)

The first session for candidates (and their parents) preparing for Confirmation at St. Albert the Great Parish takes place on Monday, January 21. There will be two times available to attend: 4:30pm & 6:30pm. Students of Blessed Cardinal Newman, St. Marguerite, Msgr. Smith, Our Lady of the Rosary, St. Albert the Great School, and Divine Mercy are encouraged to attend the 4:30pm session; students of Christ the King, St. Isabella, Prince of Peace, and all other schools are encouraged to attend the 6:30pm session. Candidates may choose the alternate time by letting Dan D’Agostino know of the change by email: sacraments@stalbertthegreat.ca
