Kindergarten and Elementary Students
The health and safety of our students remains a top priority at Calgary Catholic. The provincial
government continues to require school divisions to provide transportation to students who live 2.4 km
or more from the school in their attendance area. In recent years, Calgary Catholic provided charter bus
transportation services to elementary students who lived 1.2 km or more from the school in their
regular or Program of Choice attendance area. Starting in the 2020-21 school year, Calgary Catholic will
provide charter bus transportation services to elementary students who live
1.8 km or more from the
school in their regular or Program of Choice attendance area.
* Because of this change, some students
who received transportation services for the 2019-20 school year may no longer qualify to receive
transportation services in September 2020.
Programs of Choice: Transportation is provided only for students attending elementary French Immersion,
Spanish Bilingual, or Fine Arts programs.
Junior and Senior High Students
Although CCSD junior and senior high students who live
further than 2.4 km from their designated school may purchase Calgary Transit
monthly bus passes at a reduced cost for travel to and from the school,
all Prince of Peace Junior High students live within the 2.4 kms walk limit and therefore do not qualify for the monthly rebate.
For those students in Calgary who live outside of the eligible walk limit areas and must instead take Calgary Transit, you can use Calgary Transit’s Google trip function to plot your bus trips.
