SACRAMENT MASSES AT ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CHURCH

Several families are journeying towards their children’s reception of the sacraments. Parishioners are most welcome and encouraged to join these families in prayer

at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

  • SCHOOL-AGE BAPTISM MASS*
    Sunday, May 5 at 2:00pm
    *fulfills the attendee’s Sunday obligation
    Unbaptized candidates Grade 2 and up, who have spent time in preparation, receive the sacraments of Baptism and First Eucharist.
  • CONFIRMATION MASSES
    Friday, May 10 at 7:00pm
    Saturday, May 11 at 2:00pm
    Candidates Grade 6 and up complete their Christian initiation in the sacrament of Confirmation. Bishop William McGrattan will preside over each Mass.
  • FIRST EUCHARIST MASSES*
    Sunday, May 26 at 2:00pm
    Sunday, June 9 at 2:00pm
    Sunday, June 16 at 2:00pm
    *fulfills the attendee’s Sunday obligation
    Candidates Grade 2 and up, who have already received the sacraments of Baptism and First Reconciliation, receive the Eucharist for the first time at Mass.

SANDWICH FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER

Next weekend, May 4-5, the Sandwich Foundation will be selling Texas doughnuts for $4 each in the Narthex after each Mass at St. albert the Great Parish. Proceeds go to the Foundation.

Becky Eldredge, Author of “Busy Lives & Restless Souls” will be at the Church to speak about ‘How Prayer Can Help you find Meaning’ on Wednesday, May 15, beginning at 7:00 pm. This is a free event and is open to all parishioners. Please email satg.cwl@gmail.com to register.


COMING ALIVE CAMP NEEDS ADULT VOLUNTEERS AND YOUTH LEADERS!
Please join us for this great opportunity. Camp runs from July 15 to 19 in the morning. Any interested Youth entering grades 7-12 are welcome to apply by emailing comingalivecamp@gmail.com. We are also still in need of Adult volunteers. Please help us to make camp a great success once again!

PILGRIMAGE TO HOLY LAND WITH FR. KRZYSZTOF
Fr. Chris, from St. Albert the Great Church, is leading a group of pilgrims to the Holy Land beginning on February 27, 2020 and returning on March 6, 2020. Pilgrims will travel to the Holy Land and will see and experience many holy places during the nine day trip. If you are interested, please pick up a Pilgrimage flyer located in the Narthex or parish office.

COMING ALIVE CAMP REGISTRATION – Registration will take place on Saturday, April 6 beginning at 9:30 am until 11:00 am in the St. Albert the Great Church basement. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high demand, each adult may register one family’s children only. Please bring the Alberta Health Care Cards for each child as well as emergency contact information. Full payment of $40 per child is due at time of registration. Please make cheques payable to St. Albert the Great Parish.

Sponsors are baptized Catholic adults who are practicing their faith and willing to be faith companions. Sponsors are not saints or theologians! YOUTH GROUP PILGRIMAGE & FUNDRAISER

St. Albert the Great Parish’s Youth Group is planning a pilgrimage to Medicine Hat to spend the day with the Holy Family Youth Group and Fr. Iqbal to see the historic St. Patrick’s Church, pray the outdoor Stations of the Cross and do a fun activity. To do this, fundraising is essential to help subsidize the cost of this trip and we have decided on Purdy’s Chocolates. CHILDREN’S LITURGY SUNDAY 5PM MASS NEEDS ADULT VOLUNTEERS

Beginning in April, we will no longer have sufficient volunteers for the Sunday 5pm Children’s Liturgy program at St. Albert the Great Church. We require a minimum of two cleared adults every week. If you are interested and available to volunteer in this valuable ministry, please contact stalbertschildrensliturgy@gmail.com for more information.

Baptism Preparation typically takes place from 10:00 am until Noon on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at St. Albert the Great Parish.
