Mrs. Wronska’s Artistic Accolades
February in the Art room
Gr 8 Art students will be working on a Mixed Media Mandala art project. Integrating organic and geometric images in circular wool composition. What is a Mandala? A mandala (Sanskrit: literally meaning "circle") is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe. In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe. In this project students will use the following materials: wool, papier mache, acrylic paint and gloss medium.
Students will focus on enhancing their technical skills by, expanding their imagination and visual skills. Our main focus will be the concept of unifying forms and colors in a circular Mandala composition.
Gr 9 students will experiment with 3D forms. They will combine soft lightning with delicate papier mache to create ethereal sculptures. The main focus being on movement in 3D form.
Gr 7P is just starting the Art program and I’m excited to discover all the new talents in this class. We are going to start drawing exercises with a main focus on the principles and elements of art.
