St. Angela School is a wonderful, little school in the heart of Bridgeland with a diverse student population. Many of the families at St. Angela struggle to feed their families. During the week we have a breakfast and lunch program to feed these students, but on the weekend, and especially on extended breaks, some of our families have difficulty putting food on the table. Although some of our families are eligible to receive food from the food bank, but actually going to the food bank is a challenge for these people as many do not have a car and struggle with transportation due to the language barrier.

The Pantry is a place where families at the school can come to ‘shop’ for free. Our pantry includes perishable as well as non-perishable food items.

Our grade 5/6 class is involved with the pantry as a social justice project. These students have visited neighborhood businesses where they asked for support and are leading our school food drives.

We have applied for a funding grant but are still very much in need of support. Donations welcome
