Early in 1962, construction of St. Cecilia School began on what was then considered "the outskirts of Calgary" (present day Acadia). In March, 1982, the CSSD chose St. Cecilia School to accommodate the French Immersion program in SE Calgary. St. Cecilia School is a Catholic elementary school, our students come from many SE communities. We are also a Community of Caring School which means we teach our students six core values: respect, responsibility, caring, faith, family and trust. St. Cecilia is a place where, as a learning community, we come together in work and prayer. We believe that every child can learn and succeed as they gain an understanding and an appreciation of the French language and culture.
