Our School Council AGM (Annual General Meeting) will be held on May 20th, 2020 at 7pm online. All parents are members of school council and are welcome to attend! Would you like to a part of the School Council Executive? Nominations are underway. Contact Principal Naomi McQuaid at naomi.mcquaid@cssd.ab.ca for more information or email your nomination form (see bottom of the page for the link).

School councils provide an opportunity for parents, school administration, teachers, community members and students to work together towards achieving a more vibrant and effective school community. All parents with children attending our school are members of our local school council and are encouraged to participate in council activities. Councils usually meet on a monthly basis and work together with the school administration to advise the principal. In addition, school council chairs meet with one another, district administrators and members of the Board of Trustees at district-wide meetings.

School councils, working with their principals, create a community spirit that makes a school more than just a school. They create a learning environment where students feel the commitment of their principal, teachers and parents working toward a common goal: creating teaching and learning environments where students reach their potential and achieve at the highest levels in all areas of learning.

Note: All School Council Meetings are held once a month in the Learning Commons at St. Dominic Fine Arts School. Please watch the Dominic Digest parent weekly for upcoming dates. All parents from our St. Dominic community are welcome to attend.
