HONOUR ROLL, ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, HONOUR CERTIFICATES AND HONOUR SOCIETY

Academic Honour and Excellence Lists are posted outside the main office at the end of each reporting period. Academic Honour: Credit-weighted average between 80% – 84%, and no grade less than 65%. Academic Excellence:Credit weighted average of 85% and over, with no grade less than 65%.

Grade 10 and 11 students must have either a minimum of 15 credits per semester or 30 credits per year. This credit requirement may be relaxed for Grade 12 students who meet with administration to ensure that all graduation requirements are met. Students registered in courses taken through ULearn (St. Anne’s or ADLC taught) must meet with administration to have these courses considered in the credit count or average calculation. All reported subjects are included in the average, with each mark weighted according to its credit value. For Honour Roll purposes only the school-based mark on Grade 12 diploma courses will be used. Students earning Honours status for the present year will be invited to a Honour luncheon. Students will receive either an Academic Honours or Academic Excellence Pin. The Honour Luncheon awards are based on the final course marks for semester one and the course marks recorded on the April progress report.

Saint Francis Honour Society

Students who are on the Excellence Roll each final semester (Grade 10 January/June, Grade 11 January/June, Grade 12 January) for all three years of high school will be named to the Saint Francis Honour Society. Members of the Honour Society will be invited to a dinner on Awards Day and presented an Honour Society Medallion recognizing their outstanding accomplishments.

Academic Awards

There are a variety of awards for Academic Excellence. Academic certificates, subject awards, academic plaques and trophies, and special scholarships are presented at our annual award ceremony.

The Awards Summary 2019 is posted in each TA classroom and Student Services. The Summary highlights many of the Scholarship and Awards available to Saint Francis students.

Activity Awards

Outstanding contributions to school life through involvement in clubs or student activities are rewarded with Bronze, Silver and Gold Service Medallions.
Athletic Awards and Participation Awards: Athletic Excellence medals are awarded to all team members. (Grade 12-gold; Grade 11-silver; Grade 10-bronze).
Athletic Letters and pins are awarded to those who participate in the co-curricular programs. Please see the Athletic Webpage for more information. The Male and Female Athlete of the Year are determined by nominations submitted by coaches.
