Kindergarten and Elementary Students (city of Calgary)
Kindergarten to Grade 6 students are eligible for transportation when they live further than 1.8 km from their designated school. Check your address at the school with the transportation walk limit map or contact CCSD Transportation at 403-500-2458. When numbers warrant, morning and afternoon charter transportation (and noon service for kindergarten children) will be provided for kindergarten to Grade 6 students who are required to travel outside their community to their designated school.
Programs of Choice
Kindergarten to Grade 6 students who attend programs of choice and live more than 1.2 km from their school are eligible to receive transportation.
Junior and Senior High Students (city of Calgary)
Junior and senior high students who live
further than 2.4 km from their designated school may purchase Calgary Transit
monthly bus passes at a reduced cost for travel to and from the school. Each
year, eligible students or their parents must fill out a CCSD rebate form to
receive the monthly rebate.
Monthly youth Calgary Transit passes are available for purchase by students at the regular student rate.
PLEASE NOTE: CCSD will NOT be able to reimburse Transit Pass purchases for eligible students if students purchase tickets electronically via Calgary Transit’s “My Fare” App.
Students who wish to apply for the district’s monthly Transit Pass Rebate must purchase monthly youth transit passes at CONVENIENCE STORES ONLY, as you did last year. Please refrain from using Calgary Transit’s new “MyFare” app until further notice. CCSD will be working with Calgary Transit later in the year to see whether we will be able to accept MyFare purchases and provide rebates for purchases made using this new electronic method.
In order to receive a rebate on the purchase of monthly youth Calgary Transit passes for the school year, students must meet the eligibility criteria. Junior and senior high students in the City of Calgary, residing 2.4 kilometres or more from the school they are directed to attend by the district, are eligible for a rebate.
For eligible students, the annual Calgary Transit Pass Rebate form is required to be completed and submitted to the school or sent directly to the Transportation Department. The form provides the necessary information and authorization to directly deposit the rebate into the bank account defined by the parent/guardian on the form. The rebates will be processed only by direct deposit. The annual Calgary Transit Pass Rebate forms will be distributed in May, and due before the end of June (for the following school year). The form can also be accessed on the District’s website
Students Living Outside Calgary
Rocky View School District Transportation Office is responsible for arranging transportation for CCSD students in kindergarten to Grade 12 who reside in the Airdrie, Chestermere and Cochrane areas. For information about service, families should contact their local Catholic school or the Transportation Department at 403-500-2458.
For those students in Calgary who live outside of the eligible walk limit areas and must instead take Calgary Transit, you can use Calgary Transit’s Google trip function to plot your bus trips.
