Regular Elementary Education at St. John Paul II School
Hello friends! Welcome! Hola amigos! Bienvenidos!
We are proud to be a dual track programming school, teaching Spanish and English here at St. John Paul II, from grades Kindergarten to Grade 6. Parents/Guardians have the option to choose whether they would like their child to be placed in the English or Spanish Program. The Spanish program provides students with the opportunity to learn basic skills for speaking, reading, writing, listening and communicating Spanish and English from a young age. Spanish and/or English are used as the languages of instruction, beginning in Kindergarten or grade 1 and continuing to grade 12 at St. John XXIII Junior High and Bishop McNally High School. The Spanish program is part of the International Spanish Academy (ISA) and supported by the Ministry of Education and Alberta Education.
In the I.S.A program Spanish and English content is 50/50. The subjects taught in Spanish are Spanish Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education, Music and Art.
