St. Maria Goretti School


Students from the neighborhoods of Royal Oak, Rocky Ridge and Hawkwood (who live more than 1.2 km from St. Maria Goretti School) qualify for transportation. Charter bus service is currently provided for eligible students at a cost per school year. Please contact the school office (403-500-2099) for information on transportation registration procedures for new students.

Students must ride only their assigned busses. Appropriate behavior while riding the charter busses is expected. Failure to comply may result in loss of bus privileges. Students who are not eligible for transportation are not allowed to ride the bus. Extreme circumstances may be considered through written request to the principal.

Kindergarten and Elementary Students (city of Calgary)

Kindergarten to Grade 6 students are eligible for transportation when they live further than 1.2 km from their designated school. Check your address at the school with the transportation walk limit map or contact CCSD Transportation at 403-500-2458. When numbers warrant, morning and afternoon charter transportation (and noon service for kindergarten children) will be provided for kindergarten to Grade 6 students who are required to travel outside their community to their designated school.

Programs of Choice

Kindergarten to Grade 6 students who attend programs of choice and live more than 1.2 km from their school are eligible to receive transportation.

Students Living Outside Calgary

Rocky View School District Transportation Office is responsible for arranging transportation for CCSD students in kindergarten to Grade 12 who reside in the Airdrie, Chestermereand Cochrane areas. For information about service, families should contact their local Catholic school or the Transportation Department at 403-500-2458.

Calgary Transit

For those students in Calgary who live outside of the eligible walk limit areas and must instead take Calgary Transit, you can use CalgaryTransit’s Google trip function to plot your bus trips.

FirstView GPS Bus App

Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) Transportation and I.T. teams are working in partnership with CCSD’s contracted bus company, First Student, to bring parents their new real-time GPS bus stop application or “app” called “FirstView”.

The “FirstView” app enables bus tracking of First Student routes and provides a transportation communications app for parents’ smartphones and/or desktops. Parents can sign up to get push notifications on their personal electronic device(s).
