Our program blends personal interest in beauty with carrier pursuits in Hairstyling, Esthetics, Make-Up Artistry and Nails. We offer the 28 courses required to complete the First Period of Hairstylist Trade Apprenticeship Certification.This exciting program, blends classroom work on mannequins with theory and new found practical application on clients.Students will further be introduced to industry experts at hair shows, field trips and guest speakers.


Introductory Cosmetology COS 10
Designed to excite students about the potential of the industry. This exciting course is balanced for both personal use and interest, as well as prepares students for a career as a hair stylist. This course is 3 or 5 credits.

  • 3 credit course - Students explore professionalism and safety as it applies to this area. They will learn to perform various new found braids, updo’s, blow dries, and curling iron skills. Students will also cover basic shampoo and conditioning techniques.
  • 5 credit course - This is an add on to the above hair care and styling techniques. Students will learn about esthetic related skills including, facials, make-up and manicures.


Intermediate Cosmetology COS 20
This is a 5 credit course that builds on COS 10 skills. The students are introduced to the latest hair colouring, haircutting and advanced styling and hair care skills.


Advanced Cosmetology COS 30
This 5 credit course builds advanced skills leading towards apprenticeship and client services.

Apprenticeship Cosmetology COS 31 and 32
These two 5 credit courses focus on client services and prepares students students for their Period 1 Hairstylist Exam with the apprenticeship board.
